This series (1-58) was issued
from 1927 until 1979, when the operation was switched over to Simon and
Schuster. A series continuing off this one (starting with #59) was issued
in paperback until early 2005 (volume 190). For posterity's sake, the Detective
Handbook is also included in these listings. The first three volumes (referred
to breeders or seed books by high-end Hardy gurus) were released in 1927.
Volumes four, five, and six followed in 1928. Caves and Cabin
Island were released in 1929, followed by a book-a-year pattern until
1979.
.
Beginning with volumes one
and two, all titles through 38 were revised during a 10+ year span. This
was done to rid the text of racial phrasing, outdated ideas and old-hat
novelties, and to reduce the page count by roughly 35 leaves. So, most
volumes have two story editions thus two authors, duly listed here. In
addition, all titles up to and including Devil's Paw (38) had two, three,
or four cover art varieties.
